Sitting in Quiet Contemplation
Life is good, life is AWESOME…Life is what you make of it, especially if you reconnect with your passion. Your passion for life, for love, for living, and for leaving a legacy. You are here to live an incredibly fabulous life and the way to that FAB, is through your heart, your soul, your spirit, your way of being and way of knowing.
Your passion is that which fuels your life and your way of knowing, your way of being in the world, your way of enjoying the time you have here. But how do we reconnect with our passions? Easy, we sit in quiet contemplation and we visualize our best life possible. What is it that your soul longs for? It is travel? Is it love? Is it voice? Is it entertainment?
As you sit in quite contemplation, and listen as your soul speaks to your heart, your desires, your passions, your loves will become clear to you. That which makes your toes tingle and your heart smile will become a part of your essence.
So take a moment each day…before getting up in the morning or just upon going to bed to reflect in quiet contemplation and listen as your heart speaks to your soul.

Ringing in 2015
With a flash, a bang, a hug, and a kiss and some fireworks, we ring in 2015 and we are off to another year of life, another moment in time, another opportunity to make our mark and leave an impression on the world. Our goals, our motives, our loves, and our way of being and looking at the world are all blessings in disguise. I love this reflective time of year and I love what it represents. For me it truly does represent second chances, first chances, third chances and another chance at the same dream a new dream or another dream. It is a time to take stock of where you have been and where you are going. It is a time to take stock of where you are on your journey and where you are going. It is truly a wonderful time to just say…this is me, I am love, I am enough, I am living the life I have manifested…and I love it.
And if you want a change, put it out there and the changes will come…in time when they are ready and with very little fanfare. Life is wonderful and you are a inspired creator of your life. So Ring in 2015 with a lot of fanfare and give thanks for all of your blessings as you make 2015 YOUR YEAR!!!

The Road Less Traveled, or Not…
There are times in our lives when we must cross bridges or burn them or build them. It is an interesting concept to contemplate. When you do cross, burn, or build a bridge? The answer is not easy, but needs to be aligned with our purpose, what we have set out to do and why. It trull does help to sit in quiet contemplation when having to make such a choice or decision.
And sometimes we have to choose the road less traveled or the road where we are blazing a path and walking our footpath
“Caminante, no hay camino, se hace el camino al andar” Walker there is no path, you will make the path as you walk it” as Machado so eloquently put it. This leaves us again contemplating the life we have, the life we live and the goals we wish to achieve. It is all good, and there is no right or wrong, that is the beauty in what we do.
And, at times the path is crystal clear and laid out for us. We just need the courage to take it and not let old fears and troubles get in the way. At times, we just need to “Go for it” and bask in the glory of what we know to be our own truth.Con un pan y cafecito, Seguimos adelante, Zulmara Maria
Latinologues Comes to Boyle Heights
Last night there was laughter in the CASA…CASA 0101, that is, when the talented Latino youth of Los Angeles took the stage in Latinologues and brought down the house. They hit is out of the park with their funny, provocative, and perfect interpretations of the original Latinologues. Now, I say perfect because for me, it was perfect, although I have never seen the original logues, I know these were a perfect interpretation, because they were authentic for the actors and the audience. The hilarious renditions left the audience in stitches and we were laughing with tears in our eyes as the actors acted out the skits from the original Latinologues.
True to style and form, Rick’s writing doesn’t just tell it like it is, but invite us to think deeply about issues that can seem so black and white. Like when Buford Gomez realizes that the immigrant crossing the border and dead by the side of the ride, looks just like him, could have been him, but for the grace of God. The vignettes, both in Latinologues and Almost White, although delivered with humor, ask us to reflect on the deeper issues in society. Ask us to think before jumping to conclusions. For example, Rick is chastised for not speaking Spanish throughout his life and he handles it well, but few bother to find out why and how difficult of a decision it was for his family to make that decision and why they did it.
Subtly, Rick asks us to walk in the shoes of another, before passing judgement, before commenting, before deciding that we know the answer, the cause, the way, or the solution. These vignettes are not written by a Latino for Latinos, they written by a Latino for everyone. They inspire and make you think, think about life, think about individuals, think about how we are more the same than different.
If you are ever fortunate enough to have a chance to see Almost White or Latinologues, I hope you take the opportunity to go and see what all the hype is about. You will not be disappointed.Con un pan y cafecito, Seguimos adelante, Zulmara Maria
Saturday Night at CASA 0101-Latinologues starring
Latinologues the Broadway hit written by and starring Rick Najera will be coming to Los Angeles for a one night debut. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be a part of history in the making.
On Saturday night at CASA 0101, the audience is in for a very special evening when Rick Najera performs Almost White and is then joined by talented colleagues to perform Latinologues. Latinologues were first seen on Broadway, where Rick wrote and performed with his fellow actors. In Latinologues, we meet Buford Gomez and life on the border, we visit the Chicano barrios of Los Angeles, and get a first look at the latino immigrant in the streets of New York.
Performed with his now famous, Almost White, this promises to be an evening full of fun, laughter, and tears. Rick will leave you thinking and wondering about the role of Latinos in the United States, at the border and in towns all along the way. He shares a rich humanist experience that is no just for Latinos, but for all of us who see ourselves as living la vida loca.
